Land of the Lost Summer Sweepstakes — Official Rules

NO PURCHASE OR RESERVATION NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS SWEEPSTAKES. A PURCHASE OR RESERVATION DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

Void where prohibited or restricted. All federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations apply. By participating in the Land of the Lost Sweepstakes from Marriott (the "Sweepstakes"), all participants agree to these Official Rules and to the decisions of the Sponsor and/or judges, which are final and binding.

1. ELIGIBILITY: Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States, and the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding Quebec), who are 18 years of age or older (19 in Alabama, Wyoming and Nebraska; 21 in Mississippi) as of June 3, 2009. Employees and directors (and their immediate family members and those living in the same household) of Marriott International, Inc. ("Sponsor"), Universal Pictures, and Don Jagoda Associates, Inc. ("Sweepstakes Administrator" or "judges"), their parents, affiliates, suppliers, subsidiaries, consultants, contractors, legal, advertising, public relations, promotional, and fulfillment and marketing agencies, and website providers/web masters are not eligible to participate. The Sponsor and Sweepstakes Administrator reserve the right to verify the eligibility of winners.
2. ENTRY PERIOD: Sweepstakes starts on 12:01:01 A.M. (ET) June 3, 2009 and ends 11:59:59 p.m. (ET) September 7, 2009 ("Entry Period"). All eligible entries received during the Entry Period will be eligible for the sweepstakes drawing. All mail-in entries must be postmarked by September 7, 2009 and received by September 14, 2009 to be eligible for the sweepstakes drawing.
3. HOW TO ENTER: You are automatically entered by: (1) making a reservation online at www.Marriott.com ("Sweepstakes Web site") for any participating Marriott hotel for a weekend stay, and (2) beginning your stay by June 5, 2009 and completing your stay by September 7, 2009. The Marriott hotel brands participating in this Sweepstakes are Marriott Hotels & Resorts and JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts. Limit one entry per online reservation made/eligible weekend stay. Reservations made through any venue other than www.marriott.com will not count as entry in the Sweepstakes. A weekend stay refers to two consecutive nights s spent at the same hotel, regardless of the check-in/check-out activity, Thursday through Sunday, with a Friday or Saturday night stay required. The guest name on the reservation is the person who will be entered into the Sweepstakes. Entries and/or reservations must be complete in order to be eligible. Entries that result from transactions made with lost, stolen or fraudulent credit cards are ineligible. Normal Internet access and usage charges imposed by your online service will apply. Incomplete or untimely entries are not eligible.
   
   TO ENTER WITHOUT PURCHASE OR A RESERVATION: If you do not wish to make an online reservation, but wish to enter the Sweepstakes, you may enter by hand printing your name, complete address, daytime phone number and date of birth on a plain piece of 3" x 5" paper and mailing it in a hand-addressed postage stamped envelope to: Land of the Lost Sweepstakes from Marriott, P.O. Box 7865, Melville, NY 11775-7865. Enter as often as you wish by mail, but each entry must be mailed separately. All mail-in entries must be postmarked by September 7, 2009 and received by September 14, 2009. Mechanically reproduced mailed entries are ineligible. All entries postmarked after September 7, 2009 or received after September 14, 2009 are void and ineligible for any prize. All entries become the exclusive property of Sponsor, and none will be acknowledged or returned. Proof of sending or submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor. You must provide all required information to be eligible to enter to win a prize. Incomplete, illegible, corrupted or untimely entries are void and will be disqualified. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for lost, incomplete, stolen, late, misdirected, illegible, mutilated or postage-due entries. Automated or bulk entries or entries submitted by third parties will be disqualified and no copies, facsimiles or mechanical reproductions will be accepted.
4. WINNER SELECTION: All winners will be selected in a random drawing on or about September 18, 2009 from among all eligible entries received. Drawing will be conducted by Don Jagoda Associates, Inc., an independent judging organization whose decisions are final on all matters relating to the drawing. Odds of winning are dependent upon the total number of eligible entries received. Entrants need not be present to win. If, because of a print, computer, electronic or other error of any kind, more prizes are claimed than the number set forth in these Official Rules, a random drawing will be held from among all eligible claimants making purportedly valid claims to award the advertised number of prizes available. Only the number of prizes stated in these Official Rules is available to be won in the Sweepstakes.
5. PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize and ten (10) First Prizes will be awarded. GRAND PRIZE (1): A 4-day/3-night trip for four (4) people to visit Universal Studios Hollywood in CA. Trip includes round trip coach air transportation from the major airport closest to the winner's home, use of full-sized rental car for 4 days, based upon pick-up upon arrival at either Burbank Glendale Pasadena Airport or Los Angeles International Airport and drop-off prior to departure from the same location, Marriott hotel accommodations (based on single room, quad occupancy) and four (4) tickets to Universal Studios Hollywood. (Approximate Retail Value: USD$4,735). FIRST PRIZES (10): Twenty (20) movie tickets, redeemable at participating movie theaters. Please visit www.hollywoodmoviemoney.com to find participating theater locations. (Approximate Retail Value: USD$240 each prize). Only the prizes stated in these Official Rules are available to be won in the Sweepstakes. The total approximate retail value of all prizes is USD$7,135.
   
   PRIZE RESTRICTIONS: Grand Prize trip may not be combined with any other offer and travel may not qualify for frequent flyer miles. Actual value of trip prize may vary based on airfare fluctuations and distance between departure and destination. Airline carrier's regulations and conditions apply. Grand Prize winner and travel companion must travel together on the same itinerary. Grand Prize winner and travel companion must possess valid travel documents (e.g., valid photo ID and/or passport) in order to travel. Seat selection and timing of travel are subject to availability and/or confirmation of reservations. Grand Prize travel companion (or parent/legal guardian, if travel companion is a minor) will be required to execute a Liability and Publicity Release, where legal, prior to departure. All travel arrangements must be made at least 30 days in advance. Car rental is subject to additional restrictions set forth by car rental contract. If winner does not meet rental car requisites/requirements that portion of the prize will not be awarded. Certain additional restrictions and blackout dates may apply and all destinations may not be available at all times. Minors must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian at all times on trip. All federal, state, provincial, municipal and local taxes are the sole responsibility of winner. All expenses not specifically stated herein are the sole responsibility of the individual prize winner. All meals, ground transportation, gratuities, service charges, and any other expenses not specified herein are the responsibility of the Grand Prize winner. First Prizes subject to restrictions and expiration dates may apply. Winner and guest must be age appropriate to attend selected movies. Prizes are not transferable, may not be redeemed for cash, and no substitution is allowed except in Sponsor’s sole discretion. SPONSOR IS NOT RESPONSIBLE IF ANY EVENT OR PRODUCTION IS SOLD OUT, POSTPONED, DELAYED OR CANCELLED FOR ANY REASON, AND NO REFUND OR COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED, EXCEPT IN SPONSOR’S SOLE DISCRETION. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if advertised prize (or portion of prize) is unavailable. Winners are responsible for any loss of prize or portion of prize after it has been delivered. Sponsor will not replace any lost or stolen prizes.
6. WINNER NOTIFICATION. Prizes will be awarded as offered and winners will be notified by mail and/or e-mail on or about September 21, 2009. Grand Prize winner will be required to execute an Affidavit (or, for residents of Canada, a Declaration) of Eligibility (or have their parent/legal guardian sign, if potential winner is a minor in his or her place of residency), and, where legally permitted, execute a Release of Liability and Publicity Release within 10 days (20 days for Canadian winners) of notification attempt or the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected from all eligible entries received. First Prize winners may need to verify mailing address within 10 days of notification attempt or the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. If a winner is a Canadian resident, he/she must answer unaided a time-limited arithmetic skill-testing question as a condition to receiving a prize. Return of any prize or prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and alternate selection. Where permitted by law, winner grants to Sponsor (which grant will be confirmed in writing on request of Sponsor), its subsidiaries, affiliates and those acting pursuant to its authority, the right to print, publish, broadcast and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to the World Wide Web, at any time or times, the winner's name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness and biographical information for advertising and promotional purposes without additional consideration. Failure to comply with any of these Official Rules or return of prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification, forfeiture of prize and alternate selection via a random drawing from all eligible entries received. Unless otherwise provided in these Official Rules, forfeited and/or unclaimed prizes will be awarded via a random drawing from all eligible entries received.
7. GENERAL CONDITIONS: Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the United States and Canada. All federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations apply. Void in Quebec and where prohibited by law and outside the United States and Canada. Sponsor, its affiliate companies, parents, subsidiaries, officers, directors, and agents are not responsible for: (a) lost, late, misdirected, unintelligible, illegible, postage due, stolen, returned, or undelivered entries, mail or e-mail; (b) any telephone, computer, hardware, software, programming or lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), web site, or other connections, network malfunction, or for availability, accessibility or traffic congestion, miscommunications, failed computer network, or cable hardware or software or lines, or technical failure, jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions, computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic or network, or other technical failures or errors, or failure to properly process entries or registration; (c) communication disruption or other forces beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor, including inability to access the Sweepstakes Web site, submit entries, register, or other disruption related to Internet traffic, virus, bug, or nonauthorized intervention; (d) damage caused by computer virus or otherwise resulting to any computer from entrant's access of the Sweepstakes Web site, whether human, mechanical or electronic; or (e) incorrect or inaccurate information whether caused by web site users, electronic or human error, or by any of the programming or equipment associated with or used in this Sweepstakes. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, and/or modify the Sweepstakes if any malfunction, error, fraud, technical failure, disruption, or damage occurs, or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s control impairs the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper play of the Sweepstakes, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. In such event, Sponsor reserves the right to award the prizes at random from among the eligible participants who have registered before the time of impairment and all eligible mailed entries received. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process, the operation of the Sweepstakes and/or the Sweepstakes Web site; violates the Official Rules; or acts with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel and/or modify the Sweepstakes if fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control impairs the integrity of the Sweepstakes, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. In such event, Sponsor reserves the right to award the prizes at random from among the eligible online entries received up to the time of the impairment and all eligible mailed entries received. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Neither Sponsor nor anyone acting on its behalf will enter into any communications with any entrant regarding this Sweepstakes, except as expressly set forth in these Official Rules.
   
   WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SWEEPSTAKES OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND MARRIOTT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO PROSECUTE AND SEEK DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

("MARRIOTT") AND ITS AFFILIATES, PARENTS, SUBSIDIARIES, AGENTS, AND THEIR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES, AND AGENTS, ADVERTISING OR PROMOTION AGENCIES, AND LEGAL COUNSEL WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR, AND SHALL BE HELD HARMLESS BY ENTRANTS AGAINST, ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND TO PERSONS, INCLUDING DEATH, OR PROPERTY RESULTING IN WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, FROM ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, MISUSE OR USE OF THE PRIZE, ENTRY OR PARTICIPATION IN THIS SWEEPSTAKES OR IN ANY SWEEPSTAKES RELATED ACTIVITY, OR ANY CLAIMS BASED ON PUBLICITY RIGHTS, DEFAMATION OR INVASION OF PRIVACY OR MERCHANDISE DELIVERY. SPONSOR IS NOT RESPONSIBLE IF ANY PRIZE CANNOT BE AWARDED DUE TO TRAVEL CANCELLATIONS, DELAYS OR INTERRUPTIONS DUE TO ACTS OF GOD, ACTS OF WAR, NATURAL DISASTERS, WEATHER OR TERRORISM.    DISPUTES: Except where prohibited and subject to applicable law, entrant agrees that: any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the United States District Court for the District of Maryland or the appropriate Maryland State Court located in Maryland in the U.S.; (2) any and all claims, judgment, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Sweepstakes, but in no event attorneys’ fees; (3) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Maryland in the U.S., without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of laws rules (whether of the State of Maryland or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Maryland in the U.S.
