Bridges draws on the support of community resources and families to bring together young people and employers.
My parents have given me lots of help and support since I told them I wanted to go to work after I finished school. They knew that I wanted to work near home. We were all excited when, Michelle, my Bridges Employer Representative told me that I had a job offer from the Safeway store nearby.
My parents helped me organize my work and transportation schedules. They also support my taking new responsibilities on the job, like training new hires in the produce department.
They were very proud when I received the 2004 Bridges Youth Achievement Award.
