Overview
Positions in Marriott’s different departments vary from location to location. Property-based positions focus on serving the guests and on the operations of that property. Corporate and regional positions may focus more on strategy and support of brand and company initiatives that impact the overall guest experience. Take a moment to review our core departments below.

Accounting and Finance
Marriott’s financial expertise has long been considered one of our key business strengths. This broad-based discipline can be found at many property locations, in our regionally-based Marriott Business Services operations, and at our corporate headquarters. Positions may include opportunities in corporate and project finance, treasury, investor relations, tax, risk management, financial planning and analysis, internal audit, asset management, accounting and financial and operational analysis and reporting.

Administrative and Support
Marriott offers a wide variety of administrative and support opportunities at locations worldwide. This may include supporting the day-to-day operations of a property or corporate leader, or providing project or guest support in a particular department.

Architecture and Construction
Marriott's Architecture and Construction (A&C) organization provides cutting-edge design and construction for all Marriott brands and properties around the world. Positions may include opportunities in architectural and interior design, estimating, construction management, engineering, procurement and project accounting related services for acquisitions, conversions, renovations and new construction.

Culinary
If creating exceptional culinary experiences is your passion, then Marriott’s culinary team is the place for you. We are world-renowned for creating exceptional dining experiences, using fresh ingredients, local flavors, sustainable resources and contemporary cooking principles. Our chefs are committed to mentoring their team members to be the best they can be and to grow their culinary careers. Positions vary and include executive culinary roles, as well as positions within restaurant, pastry, garde manger and banquet kitchens. Other roles include a variety of cook level positions, service staff and wine sommeliers.

Engineering and Facilities Management
We rely on a talented team of employees to manage the technical and facilities operations at our locations and corporate headquarters. This includes ensuring our properties are in working order from heating and cooling systems to guest technology. Professionals in Engineering and Facilities Management may work in positions such as carpentry, engineering and landscaping

Food and Beverage
The Food and Beverage area is an instrumental part of an exceptional guest experience. Within Food and Beverage we offer a variety of service professional positions including restaurant and bar managers, food and beverage supervisors, bartenders, bar backs and professional service staff at various levels. You can work in a variety of environments such as in banquets serving large groups, in room service providing individual attention, or in any one of our many restaurants, bars and lounges. We also offer positions within stewarding that focus on supporting the front of house operations by cleaning and maintaining all service ware and work spaces.

Human Resources
Our Global Human Resources discipline plays a critical role in ensuring the ongoing development of our most important assets, our company culture and people, as well as essential organizational competencies such innovation and cross-cultural effectiveness. The spectrum of career opportunities across the world range from specialist roles in centers of expertise such as talent acquisition, leadership development, reward systems and organization design to HR business partner roles supporting the day-to day success of the company’s brands and businesses.

Information Systems and Technology
Our Information Systems and Technology team leverages the use of technologies to enable our global customer base to conduct business, and enjoy vacation and leisure activities while traveling as effectively as possible. This includes supporting guest technology needs on property and managing the company’s technology roadmap and tools on a global basis—from our customer website at Marriott.com to our sales and training technologies. Positions may include information technology specialists, strategists and support staff on property and at regional and corporate offices.

Loss Prevention
The Loss Prevention team ensures the safety and security of all guests, employees, the property, and the location. Their job is an important one as safety and security are so valued by our guests, members and residents. Loss prevention team members may assist in securing an important event, help a guest who has lost or misplaced important items and manage the overall security strategy at each of our locations.

Meetings and Special Events / Event Management
Marriott excels in providing the best in meeting and event services around the world. Planning and executing excellence is an everyday occurrence for our team members. They coordinate all details involved with group bookings, working closely with meeting planners to arrange sleeping rooms, food and beverage, meeting facility specifications, and any additional group requirements. Positions may include event managers, event maître d's, event services managers and event technology managers.

Revenue Management
Pricing and inventory management decisions are key to maximizing our revenue and driving profit. Marriott’s revenue management strategy, focusing on the “total hotel”, is based on the principle of selling the right product to the right customer at the right time and for the right price. Marriott continues to be recognized as a leader in this area.

Rooms Operations
(Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping and Laundry)
From our accommodations to guest services, the key role of our Rooms and Operations team members is to ensure the experience of the guest, member or resident is flawless. Members of the Rooms team, also called Rooms Operations, work in a number of different capacities. Property Rooms team positions may include residence and club services, valets, bell staff, door staff, concierges, retail and front desk professionals. In the heart of the house, (what we call our behind-the-scene operations), the Rooms team is responsible for housekeeping and laundry. At a corporate and regional level, roles include strategy development and support for initiatives that impact the overall guest experience.

Sales and Marketing
Keeping our locations busy is the role of the Sales and Marketing team. The property Sales and Marketing team is responsible for generating the location’s base revenue. There are also sales teams working on local and national accounts responsible for all areas of the business including business meetings, social events, business travel and guests traveling for vacation or leisure. Other opportunities at the regional and corporate offices include eCommerce, brand marketing and public relations.

Spa and Recreation
For our guests, members and residents, leisure opportunities and service conveniences are a key part of their Marriott experience. Members of our Spa, Golf and Recreation teams are responsible for these exceptional opportunities to provide service. Roles on these teams may include spa attendant, masseuse, golf pro, fitness attendant, ski valet, lifeguard and more. Opportunities will vary based on each location's unique service offerings.

I don’t have any hospitality experience. How can I get a job with Marriott?

Keep your options open, be flexible about your first role within the industry, and be willing to learn new skills. By staying open to all opportunities to get your foot in the door, you’ll gain experience in hospitality and will be able to demonstrate an understanding of how the business works. If you’re considering transitioning from another industry, realize that hospitality is an industry that requires a passion for service and the ability to demonstrate that passion when providing service to guests or customers.
