Marriott is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a workforce as diverse and high-performing as the guests we serve. We look for employees who are passionate about working in the hospitality industry and have the spirit to serve for which we’re known around the world.
Our selection process is designed to allow us to get to know each other better. This is important to do at the start of any journey!
We know that interviewing can be stressful and lead to more questions than answers. Our recruiting team members are available to help guide you through the process and answer your questions. While it may take some time to go through these steps, the process helps both you and us make the best decision. Our internship candidates experience one interview as part of the selection process. For our management training program candidates, the process includes additional steps and interviews as we both consider a longer term employment commitment.
Do you have what is takes to be a leader? The level of the position you are interviewing for will determine the level of expertise we will require. During the interview process, a member of our team will be looking to evaluate these competency areas:
Our University Internship Selection Process
Our selection process has three stages that allow us to review your qualifications, meet you in person, and extend you an offer to join us as an intern if you’re successful in the process:
How to Apply:
We visit many universities during the year to recruit candidates for internship opportunities. View our campus schedule page to see our schedule for the year. We select potential candidates who have completed our on line application process and invite these candidates to interview with our recruiting team. If we are not scheduled to be on your campus during the recruiting season, these interviews may be conducted over the phone.
A member of our recruiting team will notify you of your status and next steps within two weeks of the interview. Based on timing of the interview process, actual offer and placement may not occur until six to eight weeks prior to the start of your internship.
As our Ritz-Carlton properties are responsible for selecting their own university interns, please apply
approximately 2 months prior to your preferred start date for your internship and proceed through the following steps:
Please note that not all properties will have university internships available. Once you submit your application on-line, the property will contact you directly regarding the status of your application.
For culinary or baking and pastry externship opportunities, please apply

Please note that not all properties will have externships available. Once you submit your application on-line, the property will contact you directly regarding the status of your application.

This process is designed to ensure we offer opportunities for candidates to excel in the selection process. It also gives us the chance to get to know each other better and for us to introduce you to our company, culture and the responsibilities that come with a career in hospitality leadership. Note: We will be opening our application process for our 2011 Voyage programme in late Fall 2010.
