Extraordinary things have been taking place at our private, three-mile, pristine white sand beach nestled along the sparkling blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort was officially unveiled on January 1, 2017, capping off an 18-month, $320 million transformation from the beloved Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort.

January 1, 2017 marked the debut of the new JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort — the first beachfront JW Marriott in the Continental U.S.

The Art of More

As we transformed the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, Golf Club & Spa into the JW Marriott Marco Island, we elevated the idea of “more” to an art form. It’s now more than an amazing location. More than access to amazing amenities. More than ultimate luxury. At JW Marriott Marco Island, we go a step further, removing distractions to create an environment that delivers calm, creativity, and comfort.

The transformation continues as we are still adding to our property with stunning new adult-exclusive guest rooms, a celebrity chef-featured restaurant, state-of-the-art fitness and entertainment areas, and over 100,000 square feet of amazing, flexible, and technologically integrated event space – all located in the new Lanai Tower. As you can imagine, we are well on our way to making our award-winning Gulf side resort truly extraordinary.

Aspiring to become a top choice for professional meeting and event planners, when totally completed, the newly redesigned hotel will boast over 100,000 square feet of innovative space featuring 24-foot ceilings and full-length windows highlighting dramatic beach views. The new function rooms will complement the resort’s host of current amenities including two championship golf courses, “casually luxurious” guest rooms and world-class water adventures right outside.

While the resort has served as one of the premier hotels on Marco Island for years, these changes are revolutionizing the property into a one-of-a-kind Florida destination. Once fully rebranded, the resort will be the first JW Marriott beach resort in the continental United States.

Phase 1 (Complete)

The ultimate goal was to provide guests with more: more luxury, more space, more dining, more relaxation and more to imagine here in what we like to call “paradise.” The following enhancements were completed in the summer of 2015:

 

  • Re-Imagining of two signature restaurants, newly named Maia and Ario
  • Renovated fitness center
  • Renovated lobby
  • Renovated entrance and porte cochere
  • Reconfigured south tower guest rooms featuring luxurious appointments and expanded bathroom space

Phase 2 (Complete)

Although our $320 million renovation project is not yet complete, guests can now enjoy all of the enhancements completed in Phase 1 as well as the following:

 

  • 726 guest rooms, inspired by South-Pacific culture featuring enhanced décor and furnishings along with redesigned guest bathrooms to provide a more luxurious and comfortable stay experience.
  • 10,000-square-foot Palms Ballroom
  • 10,000-square-foot Palms Pavilion
  • Luxurious Spa by JW®
  • Two private 18-hole championship golf courses: The Rookery and Hammock Bay
  • The new Balinese-inspired Kane Tiki Bar and Grill overlooking the Gulf of Mexico will be available in late spring

Phase 3 (In-progress)

On January 1, 2017, the resort was officially rebranded as the JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort!

Lanai Tower meeting space is completed. Reimagined Lanai Suites are available for guests to enjoy.

Spring 2018
Lanai Tower’s celebrity-chef restaurant, virtual entertainment center, and all adult-exclusive guest rooms will debut to mark the completion of the project.
