  • Historic Temple Square Known as Utah’s most popular attraction, located on a 10-acre plot in the heart of Downtown Salt Lake City. Temple Square is owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and includes the 6-spired Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake Tabernacle – home of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, 2 Visitor Centers, the Assembly Hall and a Family History Library. Free tours, given daily, are available in up to 30 languages.
  • Utah State Capital Utah’s State Capitol hosts the working offices of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General. Free guided tours are available on the hour, Monday thru Friday with the exception of state holidays. Self-guided tours are available during opening hours and the new Pioneering Women Tour is available by reservation only.
  • University of Utah The U, located less than three miles from our hotel, offers walking campus tours, concerts, lectures, museums and a variety of sports activities including baseball, basketball and football games for the general public.
  • Olympic Legacy Cauldron Park Take a self-guided tour of the site where Utah’s 2002 Olympic Winter Games' opening and closing ceremonies took place. The plaza contains a visitor center, the 2002 Winter Olympic Museum and Olympic memorabilia including the Hoberman Arch and the 2002 Olympic Cauldron. Admission is free.
  • Utah Museum of Natural History Located on the campus of the University of Utah, the museum displays a variety of permanent exhibits with an emphasis on Utah’s own natural history and many special exhibits on a variety of topics. Enjoy daily events, kid’s summer camps and adult programs 363 days per year.
  • Discovery Gateway Formerly known as The Children’s Museum of Utah, this 60,000 square-foot interactive children’s museum offers workshops, programs and hands-on exhibits.
  • Hogle Zoo : Located at the base of Emigration Canyon, enjoy 42 acres of tree-lined pathways, daily and yearly events including December’s ZooLight, changing exhibits and over 800 animals. The Zoo is open 7 days a week from 9am – 6pm.
  • Clark Planetarium : Learn about space and science with a variety of IMAX, Hansen Dome and Cosmic Light shows available throughout the day. Free exhibits are also available or attend a low-cost special event hosted by guest speakers. Opens at 10:30am, 363 days of the year.
  • Utah Motorsports Campus : Formerly known as Larry Miller Speedway, this facility hosts a variety of auto, motorcycle and kart racing events. Experience NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series West or the Pirelli World Challenge. The campus is located 35 minutes from Salt Lake City with a general admission fee of $35. Kids, 12 and under, are free.

Culture & Entertainment near our hotel in Salt Lake City

  • Utah Museum of Contemporary Art : Located across the street from our hotel, Utah’s Museum of Contemporary Art is open Tuesday thru Saturday from 11am – 6pm. Enjoy Art day events and an annual Gala. Admission is free, though a suggested $5 donation is requested.
  • Utah Museum of Fine Arts : Located on the University of Utah’s campus, enjoy a passport to the World of Art with free museum days and events available throughout the year. The museum also hosts a variety of adult and children’s programs to encourage learning and discovery.
  • Capital Theater : Home to Ballet West, Children’s Dance Theatre and Utah Opera, Utah’s Capital Theater is located in one of Salt Lake City’s most beloved Renaissance styled buildings. Enjoy a variety of concerts and Broadway plays year round.
