Nature Center & Alpine Gardens

At 8,200 feet, these are the highest public botanical gardens in North America. The alpine display and perennial and mountain meditation gardens represent about 2,000 varieties of plants, demonstrating the wide range of choices to be grown at high altitudes during summers in Vail. The gardens attract a variety of birds. The rock garden boasts a stunning 120-foot waterfall. Allow 1 to 3 hours.

Rock Climbing

Farmer's Markets and Art Show

Summer in Vail means the Sunday Farmer's Market is back with its more than 120 vendors offering fresh Colorado produce, wine, gourmet foods, live entertainment, delicious snacks and a variety of local arts and crafts.

Summer Lift Tickets

Eagle Bahn Gondola is the only way up to the top of the mountain during the summer. A number of Vail summer activities await once at the peak, including disc golf, volleyball, horseshoes and the Discovery Center. As the host of two prior Mountain Bike World Championships, Vail offers downhill biking, a true thrill with color-coded trails for novices to experts.

Biking Tour

For the experience of a lifetime, Charter Sports at the Vail Marriott offers a biking tour down Vail Pass. Vail Mountain has previously hosted two Mountain Bike World Championships and has trails for novice bikers to experienced downhillers. The gondola can whisk you to the top for a scenic ride down, or opt for an uphill climb if you're looking for more of a challenging Vail summer activity.
