Executive Chef Phil Kromer

A Graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Phil's career has given him a wealth of experience with high profile assignments throughout the Midwest, including Executive Chef positions at Iroqouis on the Beach Hotel, the Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island, Boynes Mountain Resort in Northern Michigan and the Cincinnati Marriott Northeast Hotel. His career began as a Sous Chef at the James Tavern in Blue Ash, Ohio where he excelled and quickly advanced to the Executive Chef Position.

 

Recruited by the Chuck Muer Corporation in 1992, Chef Phil advanced through multiple Chef assignments in Ohio, Michigan and Philadelphia working both as a Chef and Consultant at Big Fish in Dearborn Michigan, the Gandy Dancer in Ann Arbor Michigan, and Charley's Crab in Palm Beach Florida. After leaving Chuck Muers Corporation and accepting a position as the Executive Chef of Rock Bottom Brewing Company on Fountain Square in Cincinnati, he was soon promoted to Regional Chef at Rock Bottom for Northeast Operations in Pittsburgh, Boston & Philadelphia.

 

In 2008, Chef Phil joined the Renaissance Indianapolis North Hotel and quickly established himself as one of the premier Chef's in Indianapolis. With Grille 39, he has taken Hotel dining to entirely new heights offering guests a true dining journey with tantalizing culinary creations that will satisfy the most discerning palate.  A 2008 recipient of Marriott International's Food and Beverage Excellence Award, Chef Phil brings local cuisine to life with his own interpretation of American favorites.

Restaurant Manager Jeremie Smith

Jeremie Smith is the entrepreneurial Restaurant Manager of Grille 39, our Destination Restaurant at the Renaissance Indianapolis North Hotel .

 

A Graduate of Purdue University with over 16 years of experience in the Restaurant Industry, Jeremie has excelled with multiple restaurant companies throughout his career, and even transitioned that experience in to becoming the owner/operator of his own restaurant.  In 2009, Jeremie joined the Renaissance Indianapolis North Hotel as the Grille 39 Manager.  After assuming this role, Jeremie became the driving force behind our signature Cocktail and Service Culture.  Along with the team at Grille 39, he excels at providing an elegant, unique, sophisticated yet casual atmosphere that inspires you to linger with a signature cocktail and experience our award winning food and service.
