Our Chef and Food & Beverage Inspiration
David McQuinn, VP of Food & Beverage for SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts, is a decorated Certified Chef (CCC), and a former Executive Chef with over 25 years’ experience with Hilton, Coast Hotels and Sheraton Hotels. David was instrumental in the development of Cavino’s core concept. His vision was to create a comfortable space where hotel guests and locals could come together to celebrate a common passion for wine, coffee and fresh local ingredients.
Ongoing inspiration for Cavino’s menu comes from Steven Duyzer, Executive Chef for The Fish House in Stanley Park, an Iconic Restaurant and local Vancouver institution owned by SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts. Chef Duyzer’s goals of serving only the best product, supporting sustainability, and using local products and purveyors as much as possible, combine and are embodied in Cavino’s menu.

Directions & Parking
Cavino is conveniently located in downtown Vancouver at 1234 Hornby Street (corner of Davie and Hornby Streets), in the Residence Inn by Marriott Vancouver Downtown. There is metered street parking available on Hornby and Howe streets, and limited secure underground parking in the hotel. Complimentary 2-hour parking with a minimum purchase of $25. Please provide your server with your license plate number for verification and a credit will be applied to your final check. Cavino is only 6 blocks from the Vancouver Centre Skytrain station and 8 blocks from the Yaletown/Roundhouse Skytrain station.
Directions:
If traveling from downtown Vancouver, best mode of transport is via local bus service or on foot. Take any bus on Granville Street to Davie Street and walk one block East on Davie to Hornby, take a left, and Cavino is located on the right side of the street.
Approximate travel times by car from nearby neighborhoods: Richmond (25 mins), North & West Vancouver (20 mins), Burnaby (20 mins), Ladner/Delta (40 mins), Surrey (45 mins).
