For Maryland visitors, a Bel Air hotel room is the perfect starting point for your explorations. This quaint city provides plenty of Mid-Atlantic small-town atmosphere, and—though it is within easy driving distance of Aberdeen and Baltimore—there are plenty of shops and restaurants convenient to your downtown Bel Air accommodations.
Running right through Bel Air, the historic Ma and Pa Trail is a hiker's dream. This scenic six-mile rail trail follows the former Maryland and Pennsylvania Railway route through Harford County, and is dog- and horse-friendly. Afterwards, stop in at Freddie's Restaurant for some nautical-themed dinnertime fun for the whole family; for a more adult-oriented evening, visit Looney's Pub North, serving late night food and drinks.
If you do get the itch for some urban entertainment, nearby Baltimore has over 200 officially recognized neighborhoods to explore. The Inner Harbor region’s National Aquarium has a world-famous rain forest exhibit, while Midtown is home to the Peabody School of Music, the Charles Theatre, and famous Penn Station.
While you’re in the city, take the MTA to an Orioles baseball game or Ravens football game before heading back to your hotel in Bel Air for the night.
