Cali

Cali is a Colombian city in southwest of Bogotá which offers a huge number of outdoor attractions and cultural things to do. As the site of the 2013 World Games, Cali is the sporting epicenter of Colombia and is the only city in Colombia with access to the Pacific ocean via the Parque Nacional Natural Farallones. The downtown area has experienced an economic boom in recent years, with modern high rises springing up amongst a wide array of historic buildings, including many European-influenced churches.

Visitors to our Cali Hotels can check out pristine golf courses and enjoy countless opportunities for adventure in local parks, in the nearby mountains, and out in the Southern deserts.

Cultural attractions in Cali reflect the area’s rich indigenous history and European influence and no visit would be complete without checking out one of the cities archaeological parks. Here you can experience tombs, ruins, and cave paintings. Museums include the Museo La Tertulia modern art museum and the Museo del Oro Calima archeological. Nearby is the 18th- and 19th-century San Francisco Religious Complex. La Merced Chapel is where the first mass was held after Cali was founded in 1536. In Cali’s oldest quarter, pay a visit to the neoclassical San Pedro Cathedral houses and see paintings of the Quito School.

After spending the day absorbing local culture, show off your salsa in a lively nightclub in the suburb or Juanchito, then spend the next morning recovering with an aromatic cup of that famous Colombian coffee.
