When you’re a guest at one of the hotels in Clearwater, heading for the white-sand beach is probably as automatic as breathing. If you want to get moving after some sand time, you can choose from several water activities such as dolphin watching, charter fishing, snorkeling or even a pirate cruise. At the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, you can see Winter the dolphin, who has an artificial tail, and other marine animals. Within reasonable driving distance of our Clearwater hotels are attractions in Tampa, including the Museum of Science and Industry, Tampa Museum of Art or–for your kids or the kid in you–famous Busch Gardens and its water park, Adventure Island.
If you prefer not to drive too far from your accommodations in Clearwater, head for Pier 60 where you can eat, fish, shop and enjoy performances and an amusement park. Or let someone else do the driving and get to know Clearwater the old-fashioned way from the Jolley Trolley. When it’s time to eat, indulge in the fresh seafood you can expect at a Gulf of Mexico city. Widespread favorites–steaks, burgers, pizza and more–are on the menus, and some restaurants specialize in regional dishes such as Spanish/Cuban, Jamaican and Floribbean.
