Marine life can be seen underwater at several aquariums, including through viewing windows at Chiraumi Aquarium in Okinawa, where whale sharks swim in a huge tank, and at the Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium. Other nearby attractions visitors to our hotels in Japan will enjoy are two of the country’s castles, which are very different in style from European castles—the magnificent Shuri Castle in Okinawa and Nagoya Castle with its golden dolphins on the roof.
If you’re in Tokyo, check out the shopping at the Oriental Bazaar and bring a bit of Japan home with you. Then make a relaxing visit to one of the city’s temples, gardens and shrines, such as Sensoji Temple, built in the 7th century. If you love the nightlife, freshen up at your hotel accommodations in Tokyo and head to Ageha (also known as Studio Coast), a large dance club by the water.
