Puebla

Surrounded by volcanoes and mountains, Puebla is a valley city in Mexico. Famous for its colonial architecture and stunning surrounding nature, there are plenty of things to do in Puebla.

Start to explore the city by heading to the Zocalo. Here, visitors can marvel at Puebla Cathedral and stroll through the surrounding streets. Some places not to be missed are the Rosary Chapel, the Iglesia de Tonantzintla, and the Casa de los Muñecos. Next, discover Puebla’s many neighborhoods. This includes Callejon de los Sapos for its historic feel, Calle de los Dulces with typical sweets, Mercado el Parian for local handicrafts, and the Xanenetla district for excellent street art. Guests staying at hotels in Puebla should also visit top museums like the International Museum of the Baroque and the Amparo Museum that exhibits Mexican art.

Those who enjoy nature will love hiking around the area, discovering the Iztaccihuatl Volcano, the Piedras Encimadas Valley, and the Quetzalapan Waterfall. For a more laid-back approach, get a stunning view of the valley from the Estrella de Puebla Observation Wheel. Plus, be sure to try famous Mexican molé, which is said to have been invented in Puebla.
