King Neptune's Statue
King Neptune's Statue was commissioned to honor the Neptune Festival, an annual event which includes choosing a King Neptune and Royal Court to serve as ambassadors for the city throughout the year. The massive 34 foot tall statue was designed by local sculptor Paul DiPasquale, and it is the largest bronze figure erected in the United States since the US Marine Corp Memorial. With events starting in May and lasting through September, this is a great event for visitors to the Virginia Beach area.

Cape Henry is the historic landing site of the English colonists who would later found Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in America. Sites include the Cape Henry Memorial Cross, a granite cross marking the spot where colonists erected a wooden cross, the statue of Admiral Comte deGrasse, the French fleet commander who aided America during Revolutionary War, and the two historic lighthouses at Cape Henry.
