Description

As the cornerstone of the Arts District, the Dallas Museum Of Art holds a renowned collection of timeless exhibits. Permanent displays include ancient Mediterranean art, contemporary art, European paintings and more. A multitude of temporary exhibitions take you on a thought-provoking journey. Previous displays have included everything from Degas to Picasso, the works of David Weisner, and a myriad contemporary artists. Today the establishment is a highly-ranked American institution that lives up to its mission of showcasing human creativity and educating the community.

  • Arturo’s Art & Me is a class for 3-5 year olds and their favorite adult. Together, we look at works of art, read a story in the galleries and do an art-making project in the art studio. Only participating children require a ticket; adults do not require a ticket. If you have any difficulties with the on-line system, please call 214-922-1270.     Explore the monstrous, the weird, and the macabre in art and science during this unique week-long camp. Work with special effects artists, scientists, and actors to debunk zombie brain physiology, create a zombified version of characters from works of art with makeup and prosthetics, and make a zombie-survival scavenger hunt using the DMA's collection, culminating in a large-scale photo shoot of you in costume!     There is a $25 supply fee included in cost of camp.

    Do you know how many different art materials you can use in a week? Count your way to the answer with inspiration taken from artworks in the Museum's collection! Learn about landscape, still life, collage, prints and abstract art while using your imagination and a colorful combination of wacky and traditional materials to create your own masterpieces. By the end of the week, you'll be a master materials-mixer!
