Description

Musei Capitolini is made up of three principal buildings, of which Palazzo dei Conservatori is the largest. Constructed in the 16th Century, one of the reasons that make it famous is the fact that Michelangelo undertook its redesign, making generous use of giant order columns, which at that time were quite a novelty. This wing of the museum is home to Roman, Greek and Egyptian sculptures. One of the most impressive sculptures is Lo Spinario, a work of art that dates back to the 1st Century BCE.
