Zurich Opera House (45 of 68)

The Zurich Opera House was the first in all of Europe to have electric lighting. The neo-baroque theatre building in front of the Sechselaeuten green space on the shore of Lake Zurich was built in 1891 with 1,800 oak poles. The first opera performed there was Richard Wagner's "Lohengrin".
