Requirements for Commission Payment
In order to receive future commissions for group meetings at Marriott International Hotels, all North American group intermediaries must have a Marriott accepted travel industry recognized accreditation for events arriving June 1, 2007 and later (e.g., ARC, IATAN, or IATA Airline Appointed or TIDS). The sooner you hold an industry accreditation, the sooner you will begin realizing the benefits of the new centralized group commissions program! For U.S.-based intermediaries not currently accredited, the IATAN program is recommended. IATAN recognizes a business entity (proprietorship, partnership, or corporation) that is engaged in the sale and/or brokerage of travel and travel related services such as cruises, tours, hotels, car rental, bus and rail transportation and meeting planning. Therefore, IATAN accredits organizations that do not book air or utilize a GDS (Global Distribution System). Please find information outlining the criteria and cost to obtain an IATAN accreditation by clicking here. For Canadian-based intermediaries not currently accredited, the IATA TIDS program is recommended. IATA TIDS was designed to accredit sellers of travel that do not book air or utilize a GDS (Global Distribution System). Please find information outlining the criteria and cost to obtain a TIDS accreditation by clicking here.

If you are currently industry accredited, you need only provide your IATA/IATAN/ARC number at the time you are booking an event.
If you need an industry accreditation, please immediately review the information about IATAN’s program (U.S. Intermediaries) and IATA’s TIDS program (Canadian Intermediaries) to facilitate a smooth and timely transition into the new Centralized Group Commission Payment Program. You will need to allow 30-45 days for your application approval. Therefore, we encourage you to submit all required IATAN or IATA TIDS application documentation as quickly as possible. This will ensure that appropriate time is allowed for your application to be processed and your new industry accreditation received into Marriott’s systems prior to June 1, 2007. Our hotels will then begin taking the necessary steps to ensure that every event, scheduled to arrive on or after June 1, 2007, is set up to be processed through this new program.
