Marriott pledges support
The recent earthquake in the Caribbean nation of Haiti has had devastating consequences for that island’s residents and for hundreds of Marriott associates of Haitian descent living in the USA. To provide immediate support, the following steps have been taken:
- The J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation has pledged $500,000 through the American Red Cross for Haiti Relief and Development.
- Designated Marriott hotels in nearby San Juan, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic as staging areas for Haiti relief efforts.

The best way at this time to support this humanitarian effort is by donating money, such as to the American Red Cross for Haiti Relief and Development or to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies for Haiti Earthquake.
