At the Grand Cayman Marriott, we are embarking on an exciting journey of re-imagining this beloved property, which has captured the hearts of so many over the years.

We are passionate about creating new beginnings and taking our room experience to the next level. We are committed to preserving The Summer House feeling and endless summer vibes that have made this property so special to our guests.

Our room renovations will enhance the guest experience by providing an elevated and contemporary look that captures the essence of our oceanfront property, creating a welcoming environment travelers will delight in coming home to.

As we enter into this initial phase of our transformation, we hope you share in the excitement of our journey while we continue to provide exceptional hospitality and memorable experiences for our local and international guests.

Our New Rooms

Inspired by Grand Cayman’s natural environment of clear waters and white sandy beaches, we are infusing our rooms with blues, sand, and wood tones. All rooms will now offer Kings and two Queens with premier Sealy mattresses for a good night’s sleep after a day of exploring the island.

Taking cues and colours from the breathtaking landscape and featuring bespoke high-quality furnishings and upgraded technology and lighting, it will be a space crafted wholly for the guests’ comfort, a place where they can relax, unwind, and reconnect, whether that’s with friends, family, or themselves.

A Never Seen Suite Experience

Our four brand-new Family Suites are cleverly designed so that everyone can have access to their own space, even while spending quality time together. Cozy bunk beds are crafted from sun-soaked timber, for a fun and unique stay. The adjacent reading or activity nook is furnished with a bespoke marble table and turquoise deck chair, both exclusively designed for The Summer House.

The room is defined by a slatted screen, to let natural light to pass through, while the luxurious King bed rests next to floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing for breathtaking views. Pale oak floor planking emphasizes the length and view to the ocean, further adding to the seaside ambience. Technology and lighting details have all been upgraded and each room will include a 65-inch TV, providing entertainment for the whole family.

How Are the Rooms Transforming?

Our rooms will increase from 299 to 301, with our 15 Junior Suites featuring new partitions, creating a residential feel with defined sitting areas. We will also add four all-new Family Suites, furnished with bunk beds and a King bed for families looking for a fun and unique stay.

Two new Ocean Suites (1-bedroom) will be located on the 4th and 5th floors and will feature a separate living space. Room enhancements will include new 65-inch flatscreen TVs, integrated lighting, upgraded surfaces and flooring and bespoke furniture. 75% of our rooms will offer modern walk-in showers, while the others will have soaking tubs.

Designed to provide a calm and harmonious backdrop and taking cues and colors from the breathtaking landscape, the room refresh is natural follow-through and companion to the front of house spaces that were renovated previously at Grand Cayman Marriott.

When Will the Room Renovations Begin and End?

Phase one of the room renovations will begin June 19th, 2023, starting with 22 rooms on the 4th and 5th floors of the hotel’s North side. Renovations are scheduled for completion by December 2023.

What Can I Expect During the Renovation?

As only the rooms are being renovated, the hotel and the rest of its amenities will operate under normal conditions. There will be a buffer floor between the work and guest rooms, designed to counteract any resulting effects of construction activity.

If I Do Not Want To Visit During Construction, What Are My Options?

Both Marriott Bonvoy members and non-members may book at one of our sister Marriott properties. Prior reservations can be rebooked or cancelled according to your reservation’s cancellation policy.

Will the Restaurants Be Affected?

Our three outlets, Anchor & Den, Vista Pool Bar and Veranda, will not be affected.

Will Other Areas Be Affected?

Our Summer House pool and pool area, Botanika Union Spa and Our retails shops, The Mercantile and Sea Spray will not be affected.
