Three Eras of Design

A hotel of luxury design and architectural distinction, The Tasman Hobart celebrates the city’s natural maritime advantage. Like a seafarers rope, it is a woven story of local materials and luxury finishes that seamlessly tie together three eras of design. In the Heritage building, original Georgian details have been restored and reimagined. Rooms feature original windows, restored fireplaces, original artwork and custom furnishings. The St. David’s Park Suite, the crown jewel of the heritage building, overlooks its namesake park and features a lofty ceiling made from the first ships arriving in Hobart, exposed sandstone walls and original artwork. Art Deco rooms, dating back to 1937, offer a subdued vision of luxury with rich colors and materials and Blackheart Sassafras ceilings. Within the contemporary Pavilion building, rooms offer sweeping water views through floor-to-ceiling windows. In the rooftop Aurora Suite, guests have an outdoor terrace overlooking the Hobart Harbor.
