Providing a safer environment for our guests and associates is a top priority. Achieving this is a shared responsibility. Please join us in our efforts to enhance the safety of our public spaces by complying with local regulations, practicing social distancing (staying at least 6 feet or 2 meters from other guests and hotel associates), and wearing face coverings whenever you’re in public areas of the hotel. We do appreciate your support and understanding.

  • Signage in public spaces are placed throughout the resort to remind our guests to maintain social distancing.
  • In restaurants, we have reduced the seating and restaurant occupancy, we have also implemented contactless dining & room services through digital menus.
  • We encourage the use of the Marriott Bonvoy App for a faster, contactless check-in.

All of the precautions are subject to change with updated government guidance.

In keeping with Marriott's Commitment to Clean, we have made several enhancements to our cleaning practices throughout our property and in guest rooms. These include:

  • Enhanced Public Space Cleaning: We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfection, particularly in areas with high traffic areas
  • Electrostatic Spraying: We're utilizing enhanced technologies, including electrostatic sprayers with hospital-grade disinfectants, to support our already rigorous cleanliness protocols.

Every guest room is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to your arrival.

On-Site PCR Testing: Aligned with expert protocols and led by Marriott's Cleanliness Council, The Westin Maldives is able to take PCR test swabs directly at the resort three days prior to departure.

Following the most recent requirements from certain airlines and countries for their travelers, the resort is facilitating PCR testing which will be carried out by our on-site doctor and we will receive the test results electronically and inform guests prior to departure. PCR testing for guests costs is USD 120/- + Tax per person.

We are deploying terms and conditions for our team to prioritize and arrange the testing for our valued guests. 

Reservations for PCR testing should be made latest 72 hours prior to departure.

Departing guests who require a negative PCR certificate to return to their home country or final destination will be prioritized.

We are committed to making the amenities and services at our property available to you while complying with local regulations, including guidance on reducing capacity in public spaces and reinforcing social distancing. The modifications we have made include:

  • Fitness Center: Open, reduced capacity.
  • Spa: Open, reservation required.
  • Beach: Open, social distancing required.
  • Kids Club: Open, social distancing required.
  • Pool: Open, social distancing required.

Drone Policy: 
Due to safety and privacy concerns for our guests, The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort prohibits the operation of unmanned aerial systems or drones, on or above the island by the general public — including model aircraft by recreational users and hobbyists. This prohibition includes drones used for filming or videotaping, as well as any drone use by media or journalists operating above or within the resort area boundaries.

Traveler Health Declaration
In accordance to health requirements, all international travelers are required to submit an Online Health Declaration Form within 48 hours before their arrival and departure to and from the Maldives. Please complete the form via this link: https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv/ethd/create

Pre-Arrival (PCR Testing)
Effective from 13 March 2022, travelers are no longer required to present a PCR test result upon arrival to the Maldives. However, All individual(s) except tourists and Maldivians are recommended to undertake PCR testing between 3-5 days after arrival. Travelers who have symptoms of COVID-19 may take an antigen test. 

The well-being of our guests and associates is of the utmost importance to us and we will unfortunately not be able to accommodate confirmed COVID-19 positive guests or guests showing symptoms of COVID-19. Guests will be solely responsible for bearing any associated expenses related to being confirmed as COVID-19 positive or having symptoms of COVID-19, including any quarantine requirements or flight cancellations. We encourage you to obtain information from the embassies and airlines for the latest travel advice before traveling and strongly recommend taking out appropriate travel insurance cover prior to your departure.

Pre-Departure (On-Site PCR Testing)
Aligned with expert protocols and led by Marriott's Cleanliness Council, The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort is able to take PCR test swabs directly at the resort prior to departure.

Following the most recent requirements from certain airlines and countries for their travelers, the resort is facilitating PCR testing which will be carried out by our well-trained medical team on site. The resort's medical officer will receive the test results electronically and inform guests prior to departure. We are deploying terms and conditions in order for our team to prioritize and arrange the testing for our valued guests:

  • On-site PCR testing charges will be USD 120/- + Tax per person.
  • Reservations for PCR testing should be made latest 72 hours prior to departure.
  • Departing guests who require a negative PCR certificate to return to their home country or final destination will be prioritized.
