Through collaborations with organizations such as Albergue Roblealto, the Costa Rica Food Bank, UNICEF, and local assistance programs, Costa Rica Marriott Hacienda Belén promotes participation in volunteer activities among guests and associates. These efforts include opportunities to contribute time, resources, and support to programs carried out with participating organizations.
At our hotel with sustainable practices in Costa Rica, responsible operations are supported through energy-efficiency projects, selected certified products, and programs focused on reducing food loss and waste. The hotel also participates in activities such as reforestation, river cleanups, and waste management initiatives carried out alongside local organizations.

Costa Rica Marriott Hacienda Belén promotes learning opportunities through partnerships with organizations such as Children’s Villages, schools, colleges, and universities. Through academic and technical training programs, associates and participants can engage in activities designed to strengthen skills and support professional development.
Guest contributions helped Costa Rica Marriott Hacienda Belén provide $4,031 to UNICEF in support of its programs. The hotel also collaborated with the Costa Rica Food Bank, contributing $3,256 in monetary support, $2,245 in in-kind donations, and 222 volunteer hours through joint activities and programs.
Beginning in February 2024, Costa Rica Marriott Hacienda Belén replaced diesel boilers with liquefied gas models as part of an operational equipment upgrade. This project supports the hotel's ongoing efforts to modernize infrastructure and improve operational performance.
San José Declaration: This sustainable hotel in Costa Rica signed the San José Declaration as part of its participation in a recognized workplace initiative. Working alongside IRCA, Costa Rica Marriott Hacienda Belén carried out employability workshops and learning activities. These efforts included 50 volunteer hours, an interview preparation workshop, and participation from 25 program attendees.
In 2024, we sponsored an eco‑minded fashion show, trained 72 individuals through Marriott University, and completed 150 volunteer hours. Through our partnership with Herradura School, we supported education and community development in Garabito with workshops and training activities for students and families.
