Hotel Danieli, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Venice

Known as an open-air museum, Venice offers an infinite array of interests, culture, and opportunities for relaxation—from inviting beaches to rare artwork and exclusive shopping—all set against the romantic backdrop of the lagoon. All six of the city’s neighborhoods—sestieri—are easily explored by foot or vaporetto (waterbus). Hotel Danieli guests enjoy particularly easy access to the San Zaccaria vaporetto stop. Also, mere steps away, St. Mark's Square beckons with its many attractions, including the Palazzo Ducale, St. Mark's Basilica and its Byzantine Mosaics, St. Mark's Belltower and its views of Venice, and the romantic Bridge of Sighs. The nearby Piombi prison, where Casanova was imprisoned in 1755, is a delight for history lovers. A visit would not be complete without a vaporetto tour along the beautiful Grand Canal. Stop along the way to explore local haunts like the bustling fruit, vegetable and fish markets at Rialto.

Fall in Love with Venice

The Venice Biennale alternates between Art and Architecture.

In the context of widening political divides and growing economic inequalities, it calls on architects to imagine spaces in which we can generously live together. The architects invited to participate in Biennale Architettura 2021 were encouraged to engage other professions and constituencies - artists, builders, and craftspeople, but also politicians, journalists, social scientists, and everyday citizens.

The Venice Biennale was born on 19th April 1893, when the City Council proposed to celebrate the silver anniversary of King Umberto and Margherita of Savoy with a 'biennal national artisic exhibition'. The event in fact took place two years later, opening on 30th April 1895.

Venice Golf Club

Hidden between the ruins of a XVII century Austrian fortress, the Mediterranean woodland and the Malamocco channel, the Venice Golf Club is home to an 18-hole international golf course, one of the first in Italy, located at the Alberoni, on the far south end of the Lido island. Centuries-old trees sprout all over this world-famous golf course, which reaches the seashore.

Inaugurated in 1930, the original nine-hole course was projected by the Scottish architect Cruickshank of Maxwell M. Hart of Glasgow and built on recovered sea land, proving to be a true sea-link. In 1950 the course was enlarged to 18 holes to a project by the architect C.K. Cotton.

Over the years the course characteristics have slowly changed with the growth of many trees; the rolling fairways have however remained, as have the deep bunkers and the grass roughs. Of the original sea-link, the splendid sandy foundation has survived rendering the course practicable and verdant year round.

The course requires a great deal of precision due to its difficult technical characteristics but guarantees even the less expert golfer an enormous amount of satisfaction. The course record belongs to Arnold Palmer.

  • Yardage: 6800
  • Altitude: At sea level
  • Availability of golf carts and golf clubs on request at additional cost
  • Restaurant upon reservation for dinner

The Venice Golf Club is affiliated with our hotel. As such, our guests are offered preferred rates and tee times.
