Luxury in the Heart of Nature
The scenic landscape upon which JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort & Spa is built originally housed a summer resort known as ‘Paignton House' which opened in 1894. Now this spectacular location is home to a luxurious destination resort.
John Frederick Pain and his wife Charlotte Tuck opened the resort in 1894, catering initially to fishermen and farmers, and eventually to seasonal vacationers. Today, guests are invited to discover modern luxury set in Muskoka's pristine, natural beauty.
The foundation of the original Paignton House on “Fish Rock” peninsula can still be seen from the rooftop terrace of the current building, and a wing of the modern luxury resort is named ‘Paignton House’ after the first hotel that welcomed visitors to this beautiful place.
An elegant bench carved from Canadian white oak in the resort's newly renovated lobby is reminiscent of a canoe on the lake.

Canada’s Most Unique Icebar
We are honoured to partner with Dan Aykroyd, founder of Crystal Head Vodka on the Crystal Head Icebar experience at the resort. This one-of-a-kind Icebar is made up of 15,000 lbs of ice and is beautifully decorated with 231 Crystal Head Vodka bottles on the shelves. The highlight of the décor is the majestic chandelier made up of 36 bottles and lit up in striking hues of purple and gold.
