Catwalk Lounge and Bar

Catwalk
“My team and I have been working on a new drinks menu, which I think people will love” says Lynn Stark, manager of the Catwalk Bar. “It (offers) 36 cocktails, including four or five made with an infusion of tea, which are particularly special.” The 27-year-old takes pride in creating the best drinks on Potsdamer Platz, which she tailor-makes for each guest. “I ask you which spirit you prefer,” she says, “and when I know the base and whether you would like a sweet or sour or herby cocktail, I work out the best drink for you.”

Stark moved to Berlin from Hamburg just so she could work at the Catwalk. “The bar is so fashionable, and you can’t find anything similar at the moment in Berlin,” she says. “It was designed by Michael Michalsky, an amazing German designer, and it is very striking.

And it certainly is, from the modish black and white photos of fashion heroes that line the walls to the directors’ chairs named for ‘Claudia’, ‘Karl’ and ‘Tatjana’, and the walkway that gives the place its name.

The Catwalk Lounge and Bar is busy throughout the week, but come the weekend it really comes alive. “On Friday and Saturday we have a DJ playing house music, and we have lots of models and designers turning up” says Stark. But it’s not just the fashion crowd that have adopted the hangout. Catwalk has become so popular that bartenders from across Berlin head there for a drink after their shift.
