Hyped up Dorm room
Maybe the college dorm room feels European or hip, but not for this business traveler. I did not know what to expect as I never stayed at an Aloft property before. I thought maybe it is SPG's version of a Courtyard. No it is not! Although the staff were very nice and the hotel was clean, it is the character that is not me.

Great stay
Great stay and location. Shuttle was free and very courteous driver! Not enough food options on-site.

Sub-Par all around
The hotel is run down or if recently remodeled not done well. Rooms are small, Staff is not invested in their customers or passionate about their jobs. Food was over priced for what you get. I have stayed at other Alofts where the snacks are free, here you pay for everything. Pool small and dirty. Not a great location if you are without a car. There is nothing close to walk to to eat.

Aloft decent hotel for business trip
Staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful.
Appreciate the bottles of water in the room daily and the coffee/tea in the lobby.
Aloft has a modern decor in the hotel and the rooms.
Short term issues:
Shower floors not certain if they are cleaned and mopped weekly or not, but it's a concern if they are not.
Sometimes bread is not fresh for the breakfast menu.
TV remote and menu/guide in the room functions very slowly to the point where it's inconvenient
Need less carpeting in the rooms and hallways as carpets ultimately are dust magnets.
Need room rates inclusive of breakfast or without to compare when booking.

Overpriced/Under-delivered
Booked a king bed well in advance for a business meeting, using my SPG account. Upon arrival was given a room with a double bed, a broken A/C and a handicap-access type bathroom. All of this and the price of the room had doubled since last year. The employee who checked me in was nice and professional, but the issues with my reservation went beyond anything the employee could help out with. Never staying here again.

Aloft Plano - A hotel with Poor service and breakfast options
I was greeted by an overburdened and overworked concierge service with an emotionless face. My overall impression of the hotel while I was at front desk sounded more like an online checking experience i.e. without much human interaction.
Hotel management needs to look at staffing more people to reduce burden there.
Hotel breakfast area looks like a small shop with price tags hanging off each item. Looked like Aloft wants to make sure the guests in the hotel font feel like home.
Awful breakfast options.

Cleanliness of sheets and pillows could be worked on. Hotel slippers should be provided.
