Nature Adventures


Nature Walks
The Andaman Resort is surrounded by one of the world’s oldest rainforests, which is teeming with a magnificent array of flora and fauna. Enter this world with our naturalist or one of his trained assistants on a morning or evening Nature Walk to learn the secrets of the rainforest. All walks are complimentary and depart from the main lobby. The morning walk begins at 8am, and the evening walk begins at 7pm. Each adventure is approximately 1½ hours and guests are invited to dress comfortably in strong sandals or sport shoes.
Destination Discoveries
Let our Concierge guide you with a short presentation about our setting’s geography, culture, and other things that make The Andaman and Langkawi so special. This activity offers a variety of unique experiences, which will not be always be the same. Limited to 12 people.
Mangrove Cruise & Swimming
The Mangroves are home to a unique group of plants that have adapted to live in an environment of constant and dynamic change dictated by the rise and fall of the tides. Observe white-bellied sea eagles, Brahminy Kites, kingfishers, and more before joining a local family for a delightful home-cooked lunch. Then head to a nearby jungle trail for a short 450-meter trek that leads to a quiet jungle pool for a refreshing swim. Fees apply.
Rainforest Awakening
As morning light breaks, the forest awakens to the sights and sounds of birds, monkeys, squirrels and a myriad of other delightful animals. Morning is the best time to walk our grounds to gain an insight into the thriving plant and animal life here. Discover a treasure trove of medicinal plants that are increasingly finding their way into modern medicine.

Rainforest After Dark
Let our naturalist unravel some of the mysteries of the virgin rainforest with the unique sounds and enigmatic animals that appear as night falls. Watch out for flying foxes, flying squirrel and the very unique flying lemurs. No trip to these islands can be complete without experiencing our rainforest at night.

Unesco Geopark Cruise
The Kilim Karst Mangroves was the first site in Southeast Asia to be named a UNESCO Geopark. An insular mangrove forest coexists with magnificent fossil-rich, near-vertical to subrounded limestone hills dating back to over 400 million years. This once-arcane coral is now home to a unique floristic group of plants, some of which cannot be found anywhere else in the world, and you may spot variety of other flora and fauna that thrive beneath. Kayaking & Swimming Adventures
A short drive takes us to Kubang Badak River where we don our lifejackets and get straight into our kayak. We row with the flow of the tide along the tranquil mangrove forests and enjoy the birdlife and wildlife here. We will then join a local family for a delightful home cooked lunch, and transferred to a short 450m jungle trail that leads to a quiet jungle pool for a refreshing swim.
Trek to the Crystal Creek
This very short 450m trek will take us through a rainforest trail that ends at a quiet jungle stream that cascades into a natural pool. This fun outing is ideal for the whole family or a couple wanting to escape the heat of the tropical sun and swim in its cool & refreshing waters. Image credit to Naturally Langkawi
Jungle Trekking
For keen hikers, there are several jungle trails around the hotel of varying difficulties, catering to different levels of fitness. Trails can be custom-designed to meet particular needs. Your guide will highlight the many medicinal plants found here and used in traditional Malay medicine.
Escorted Wildlife Photography Tours
For those who are passionate about photography, our guide will drive you to several spots around the island. Using our expert local knowledge, we can advise you where and when to capture wildlife and scenic views with your lens. We recommend that this tour be taken either early morning or late afternoon. Fees apply.
Bird Watching
Langkawi has a rich diversity of ecosystems and habitat types, including lowland broadleaf rainforest, mangrove forest, reed beds, rice paddies, orchards, scrublands, and mudflats. This corresponds to a rich diversity in birdlife on the island. More than 220 species of birds have been recorded on the island, with approximately 30 percent being migratory. All tours start early for the best opportunities to observe them and to avoid the heat of the tropical sun.
