Spring Mountain Ranch State Park

Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is located 15 miles west of Las Vegas, in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The mountain's many springs provided water for Paiute Indians and later brought early settlers to the area. This 520-acre park was developed into a working ranch and luxury retreat by a string of owners, who included Chester Lauck of the comedy team "Lum & Abner," German actress Vera Krupp and millionaire Howard Hughes.
