United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates has become a preferred destination for family holidays and city breaks with record breaking development, iconic skyscrapers, world-famous resorts, mountains, deserts and events.

Established in 1971, the country is a federation of seven emirates which are Abu Dhabi, Arjman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain. Each emirate is governed by absolute monarchs who form the Federal Supreme Council - the highest legislative and executive body in the country. Isram is the official religion of the UAE, and Arabic the official language, but English is widely spoken.

Major landmarks and districts include Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Mosque, which is one of the largest mosques in the entire world. Al Ain Zoo and Aquarium in Abu Dhabi is the largest zoo in the UAE. In Sharjah, Al Qasba district has become the premier tourism, cultural, business, and entertainment landmark. In Ajman, Ajman museum and cultural center is a world-class family attraction.

Ras Al Khaimah provides a choice of exciting activities and places of interest from water sports to desert experiences. Umm Al Quwain (UAQ) is the best place for people who enjoy sounds of waves and peace.

Dubai attracts world attention through innovative construction projects - such as mega malls and the world's largest indoor theme park - and hosting conferences, conventions and events. For many visitors, Fujairah is a laid-back relief after the bustle of Dubai, featuring the popular Al-Bidyah Mosque and Fujairah Fort.
