Marriott’s diverse ownership efforts launched in 2005 and has continued to evolve, introducing successful diverse and women business owners to the hotel business, and educating them on the potential investment opportunities in the industry.

Our commitment is to build a more inclusive ownership portfolio, not only providing a competitive advantage, also to enhance sustainable business growth, as well as both economic and social vitality.

Twice a year, Marriott hosts an Ownership Educational Summit to encourage hotel ownership and assist in educating potential owners about the hospitality industry, the path to hotel ownership, and the benefits of franchising strong Marriott brands.

Exchanges – a diverse supplier program by Marriott – helps to drive economic empowerment around the world, support our customers and expand our global footprint. Our partnerships with minority-, woman-, service veteran-, disabled-, and LGBT-owned businesses foster an exchange of ideas, spurring innovation and inspiring us all to do business better.

Marriott is an active corporate member of various multinational organizations that represent diverse and historically excluded suppliers, including the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council and WEConnect International. Each year, Marriott participates in, hosts and supports an array of conferences, seminars, forums, and events to help further evolve global supplier diversity.
