Our lush, tropical atriums recreate three Florida environments that immerse you in the sights and sounds of the Sunshine State, from the rising mists of the Everglades to the vibrant island revelry of Key West and the Spanish charm of St. Augustine.

Best of Florida LIVE!

At Gaylord Palms Resort, experience Florida's fabulous wonders under one spectacular roof –  4.5 acres of glass and steel, majestically soaring over a lush landscaped setting that is shielded from the changing weather.

We hope your visit inspires you to explore the rest of the Sunshine State.

Sawgrass Place

In the Everglades atrium, visit two popular exhibits at Sawgrass Place, a themed "backwaters" homestead. See four species of non-venomous Florida snakes, securely displayed within swamp-themed habitats; then, look for a family of baby alligators, known as "grunts." See one of these hatchlings up close at the Sawgrass Place Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays right after the Key West fish feedings.

Gator Springs

In the St. Augustine atrium, you'll find 15 juvenile alligators and 30 species of native turtles in a habitat reminiscent of Florida's natural springs. Watch alligator feedings and learn about the species from GATORLAND   specialists on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 6:30 PM (time subject to change).

Key West Fish Feedings

Watch native marine species such as mangrove snappers, redfish, snook, stingrays and tarpon in our 161,000-gallon Key West lagoon. It's the largest known Euryhaline exhibit of its type—where saltwater fish are acclimated to a relatively low salinity habitat.

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon at 1:00 PM, see Bottled Ocean specialists host interactive fish feedings.

Flagler College Bell Tower

Reminiscent of Old Florida, the architectural backdrop for Emerald Plaza evokes the style of Henry Flagler, the visionary entrepreneur who made St. Augustine a popular destination. Enjoy the Mediterranean revival style found in distinctive turn-of-the-century hotels such as The Alcazar and The Ponce de Leon. A bell tower stands guard over the atrium, as it still does today at Flagler College in St. Augustine.

Treasures of the Atocha

Inside the Castillo de San Marcos, see the "Treasures of the Nuestra Señora de Atocha" museum display. The Spanish galleon Atocha was believed to have been lost in 1622 off the Matecumbe Keys of Florida. These spectacular golden artifacts were discovered in 1985 by Mel Fisher, part of what is reported to be one of the United States' richest treasure excavations.

Castillo de San Marcos

The St. Augustine atrium features a small-scale replica of Castillo de San Marcos, the oldest fort in North America. Designers studied the ruins of the original, built by Spain in 1672 in what is now St. Augustine, to emulate its mysterious, romantic aura.

Sand Sculptures

To celebrate an art form practiced on beaches from Miami to Florida's Emerald Coast,  Gaylord Palms features an ever-changing exhibition of sand sculptures. The Gaylord Palms sand displays in the Key West atrium were created from 2 tons of sand.

Scenic Waterways

Fish species including koi, bluegill, tilapia, gar, pacu, catfish and oscar glide through our indoor waterways. See all of Gaylord Palms' 360,000 gallons of water harboring aquatic life.

Everglades

The lush Florida Everglades comes to life under our signature glass atrium. Stroll up a rugged wooden walkway over misty bogs toward Old Hickory, our steakhouse retreat. Mysterious symphonic songs of nature greet you as you cross through majestic cypress trees.

In the Everglades area, you'll find our luxurious 20,000-square-foot Relâche Spa and Salon. Here you'll find an elegant, peaceful atmosphere with full-service treatment rooms, sauna and steam rooms and more.

Soak up the Florida sun outside at the South Beach Pool and Cypress Springs Family Fun Water Park.

Emerald Bay

The Spanish Renaissance architecture of Emerald Bay graces this most lavish area of the resort. You'll find 362 magnificent guest rooms and 26 luxurious suites, a "hotel within a hotel" offering the comforts of a luxurious private residence. Exclusive meeting facilities provide opulent amenities, perfect for executive events.

Strolling from Emerald Bay toward the convention center, you'll pass through the quaint cobblestone street of Market Square, where you can shop exciting boutiques. Enjoy a treat at Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream Shoppe, or stop by Java Coast for a delicious cup of coffee and on-the-go bistro fare.

St. Augustine

The cobblestone streets of St. Augustine take you into a land steeped in history. The Spanish architecture recalls a romantic view of Florida, as seen through the eyes of explorers like Ponce de Leon.

A replica of the Castillo de San Marcos, the oldest Spanish fort in the New World, displays treasures from the Spanish ship Atocha, discovered by Mel Fisher after a 16-year search. This magnificent fort stands guard in the enormous lobby featuring our fabulous Wedding Gazebo, Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Youth, the magnificent kitchen of the Villa de Flora and the hip and stylish SORA, serving sushi with a South Beach flair.

Key West

Our Key West atrium brings the festive, free-spirited style of the islands indoors. Stroll along the wharf as you marvel at the 60-foot schooner, The S.S. Gaylord, at Sunset Sam's, a Key West Grill featuring a creative fusion of Floridian and Caribbean cuisine.

And be sure to stop by Mallory Square Market for some casual shopping.
