Earn Other Currencies


  1. Members may not earn Rewards Points, Ctrip Points, and Miles for the same stay. A Member may switch among earning Miles, Ctrip Points, or Rewards Points, before a given stay by updating his or her Membership profile or by contacting the Rewards Program Guest Services office. The Member will begin earning the new "currency" (Rewards Points, Ctrip Points, or Miles) with the next stay. Previous earnings will not be converted to the new currency. If the Member wishes to "convert" Rewards Points into Ctrip Points, the member may redeem Rewards Points for a Ctrip Reward.

  2. A “stay" or "qualifying stay" means all consecutive nights a Rewards Program Member registers and personally pays and stays at any Rewards Program participating hotel, for which the room is billed to the Member.

Earn Ctrip Points

  1. When choosing to earn Ctrip Points in the Rewards Program, Members must designate the Ctrip account to which their Ctrip Points will be credited. For details on joining the Ctrip program, please refer to Ctrip’s terms and conditions.

  2. A Member is eligible to receive Ctrip Points for staying at participating Marriott brand hotels or Ritz-Carlton hotels for his/her room and up to two additional rooms. At least one of the rooms must be reserved and registered in the Member's name and the Member must pay for all rooms, which payment arrangement must be requested at time of hotel check-in. The Member must also stay in one of the rooms. To ensure Ctrip Points are automatically posted to the correct Membership Account, the Member's Rewards Program Membership Number must be present on his/her room folio and up to two additional rooms, as applicable.

  3. Charges that do not qualify for Ctrip Points include taxes applied to the room rate, purchase of Marriott gift certificates or gift cards, purchase of The Ritz-Carlton gift certificates or gift cards, charges for third party-provided goods and services at participating Marriott brand hotels or Ritz-Carlton hotels, and catering or banquet functions charged to the guest room account.

  4. Once Ctrip Points have been awarded to the designated Ctrip account, they may not be changed to another program/account or converted to Rewards Program Points.

  5. Ctrip Points will not be given at any subsidiary or affiliate of Company other than participating Marriott brand hotels or Ritz-Carlton hotels, unless otherwise advertised. If a hotel ceases to be a participating hotel, all stays subsequent to such date will not be eligible to earn Ctrip Points regardless of when the reservation was made.

  6. Ctrip Points and elite night credit may be earned for stays completed within 30 days prior to the Member’s enrollment, if such credit is requested in writing, along with a copy of the paid hotel receipt, within 60 days of the stay.

  7. Ctrip Points earned while staying at any participating hotel located outside the United States will be based on the U.S. dollar conversion at time of checkout of all qualifying charges made during the stay.

  8. No other person except the Member may earn Ctrip Points through the Rewards Program for his/her Account. Ctrip Points for a room shared by two Rewards Program Members will only be awarded to one Rewards Program Member.

  9. Ctrip Points or elite night credit accrual is limited to individual travel and the room must be paid for individually by the Member or direct billed to the party responsible for paying the bill. If the room is master-billed, the charges are not eligible for Ctrip Points or elite night credits.

  10. If the Member attends a convention or group meeting and individually pays the hotel directly for the room, he/she will be eligible to receive Ctrip Points and elite night credits for the stay. However, contract rooms, rooms reserved by corporations on an ongoing basis, and master-billed rooms are not eligible to earn Ctrip Points or elite night credit. Military rates at certain overseas locations are subject to local restrictions and may be ineligible for Ctrip Points or elite night credit.

  11. Rooms booked at the Marriott friends and family or the associate rate or at The Ritz-Carlton friends and family or the associate rate are not eligible to earn Ctrip Points or elite night credits.

  12. Rooms booked through third party online retailers, such as,,,,, Priceline, etc. as well as rooms booked through any other 3rd party online retailers that require pre-payment are not eligible for Miles or Elite night credit. Wholesale packages and series tours are not eligible for Miles or Elite night credit regardless of booking source.

Ctrip Rewards

  1. Rewards Program Members may redeem Points in exchange for Ctrip Points (“Ctrip Reward”). Click here for Ctrip conversion rates.

  2. Rewards Program Members requesting a Ctrip Reward must be a member of the Ctrip program in order to receive a Ctrip Reward. For details on joining the Ctrip program, please refer to the Ctrip terms and conditions.

  3. Once Ctrip Points have been requested, Ctrip Points will automatically be transferred to the Member's Ctrip account. Please allow approximately six weeks for Ctrip Points to be posted to your Ctrip account.

  4. Once Ctrip Points are credited to the Member's Ctrip account, changes, reissuance or recredit of Rewards Points are not allowed.

  5. The terms and conditions of the Ctrip program control the redemption and distribution of the Ctrip Points earned through the Rewards Program.

  6. Ctrip reserves the right to change the Ctrip program at any time with or without notice. Ctrip is not responsible for products or services promised or supplied by other participating companies.

Rewarding Events - Event and Meeting Planners

  1. Rewarding EventsSM (“Rewarding Events”) provides Rewards Points, Ctrip Points, or Miles to Rewards Program Members who book and hold qualifying groups, meetings, and events (“Events”) at participating hotels and resorts. Members electing to earn Ctrip Points for Rewarding Events cannot earn Rewards Points or Miles in addition to Ctrip Points for an Event.

  2. Rewarding Events is valid at all participating properties in participating brands: The Ritz-Carlton®, JW Marriott®, EDITION®, Autograph Collection®, Renaissance® Hotels, AC Hotels by MarriottSM, Marriott Hotels & Resorts®, Gaylord Hotels, Courtyard by Marriott®, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott®, SpringHill Suites by Marriott®, and Marriott Vacation Club®.

  3. Rewarding Events is not valid at the following brands: Residence Inn by Marriott® and TownePlace Suites by Marriott®.

  4. A signed group or catering contract with the hotel sales department is required and must include the Member’s Rewards Program Membership Number.

  5. The Member eligible to earn Ctrip Points must be either the main contact recorded on page one of the contract, or the authorized signer of the contract.

  6. Excluding special promotions or incentives, Member will earn ten Ctrip Points for every one U.S. dollar ($1.00) spent on qualifying actualized Event charges, up to a maximum of 150,000 Ctrip Points per Event.

  7. Qualifying Event charges – food, beverages, meeting room rental, audio visual equipment, and décor ordered by the hotel and paid for on a master account. Guest room rate charges also qualify only when contract has a minimum of ten (10) guest rooms actualize for at least one (1) night of the Event (with or without catering). Qualified guest room charges earn Ctrip Points for the Member whether they are paid for on a master account or paid for by the individual guest in the room.

  8. Excluded Event charges – all taxes, gratuities and service charges.

  9. Members who hold qualifying Events at participating hotels also receive ten (10) Elite night credits toward Elite status, which are awarded to their Rewards Program account along with Ctrip Points earned for the Event.

  10. Ctrip Points will be awarded within ten (10) business days after the conclusion of the Event provided that the Event is not cancelled, and all other terms and conditions of the group or catering contract executed in connection with the Event have been met.

  11. Rewards Points and Miles cannot be earned in addition to Ctrip Points for the same Event by a Member.

  12. The Member does not have to be a registered guest or attend the Event in order receive Ctrip Points with Rewarding Events.

  13. Only individuals can be enrolled in the Rewards Program to meet the eligibility requirements. No corporations or organizations can hold a Rewards Program account and are thus not eligible to earn Ctrip Points with Rewarding Events.

  14. Members are responsible for complying with their own company or organization policies regarding hotel loyalty programs. Members are solely responsible for notifying their employer, principal and/or client of any Ctrip Points awarded with Rewarding Events.

  15. Ctrip Points awarded for Events held at participating international locations are based on local currency converted to U.S. dollars. Local currency is converted into U.S. dollars on the day the Event Ctrip Points are awarded using a published rate of exchange in effect at time of conversion. This rate will be determined at the Rewards Program’s sole discretion, based on standard currency conversion methods, but may vary from currency conversion rates used by credit card companies.

  16. The number of Ctrip Points to be awarded shall be determined pursuant to the Rewards Program Rules in effect at the time of award. The Rewards Program Rules and number of Ctrip Points available to be earned are available on-line at (Marriott Rewards Program) or (The Ritz-Carlton Rewards Program), and may be modified at the sole discretion of the Rewards Program at any time and without notice.
