Honoring the Tradition in Bali, Indonesia | The Ritz-Carlton

Bali

Committed to preserving Balinese heritage, The Ritz-Carlton, Bali invite guests to partake in a thoughtfully curated journey that enriches their stay through authentic community engagement and the preservation of Balinese traditions. Guests will learn to make “Canang Sari”, a sacred offering used in daily prayer that carries deep significance and meaning. It is an essential offering used in the daily life of Balinese Hindus to thank God in praise and prayer. It is made of young coconut leaves (known as Busung), and overlaid by colorful flowers placed in a specific direction. Each direction symbolizes a Hindu God. Guests will be dressed in a Balinese outfit to join the private class to learn the basic steps in preparing Canang Sari. Once completed, some of it will be placed at the resort’s temple as their offering of the day, while some will be sent to the village temple through the resort’s priest as the contribution to the local community. To reserve this experience, we invite you to contact our Concierge at ext. 3542 or email rc.dpssw.concierge@ritzcarlton.com
