Earn a Free Night Award
A Free Night Award can be earned through Marriott Bonvoy Credit Cards, select Marriott Bonvoy promotions, or Marriott Bonvoy Elite benefits such as Annual Choice Benefit when you reach 75 Elite Night Credits. Certain hotels have resort fees.*
Explore CardsLocate a Free Night Award
Open the Marriott Bonvoy app, click into your account, and scroll down to the Rewards section. If you have a Free Night Award, it will be listed. Click the Free Night Award for more information.
Log InRedeem a Free Night Award
Toggle on Use Points/Awards and click Find Hotels. Select a hotel and room type, then tap Redeem Free Night on the Review Reservation screen. Select the award you'd like to use, add points if needed, and click Book Now.

A “Free Night Award” is issued through a Loyalty Program benefit, promotion, or Partner Program. Each Free Night Award carries a specific Points value that can be applied to one (1) night in a standard guest room at a Participating Property offering a Standard Redemption Award rate or PointSavers Award rate for the requested stay date that is less than or equal to the value of the Free Night Award. Free Night Awards are valid only for use by the Member designated on the Free Night Award and are not transferable. More than one (1) Free Night Award can be used for a Stay with multiple nights, as well as for multiple rooms where the Member is present for the Stay and the room is under the Member’s name. Free Night Award examples include the Free Night Award option with the 75-Night Annual Choice Benefit and the Free Night Award issued through certain Marriott International co-brand credit cards.
Members who apply the Free Night Award on a night where the value of the Free Night Award is higher than the standard guest room Award Redemption rate or PointSavers Award rate will forfeit the difference in Points and not receive a Points refund. When applying a Free Night Award to a night in a reservation, Members are able to redeem or purchase up to 25,000 Points to expand the value of such Free Night Award.
Free Night Award may be used on or prior to its expiry date listed; it cannot be extended beyond the validity date, exchanged, or re-deposited into the Member’s Account for Points or future use. Free Night Awards may differ in Point value and expiry date, depending on how the Free Night Award was earned. An eligible Member should check the Free Night Award’s expiry date provided in the Member’s Account.
Additional restrictions for using Free Night Awards include, but are not limited to, Free Night Awards: (1) can only be applied to a standard room and does not apply to a Premium Room; (2) value cannot be combined with cash or other Award Redemption types; (3) are not eligible for the Stay for 5, Pay for 4 Offer; and (4) cannot be used at Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy and The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.
