Rewarding Events Terms and Conditions

  1. Marriott Rewards® Rewarding EventsSM (“Rewarding EventsSM”) provides Marriott Rewards points (“Points”) or airline miles (“Miles”) to Marriott Rewards members (“Member”) who book and hold qualifying groups, meetings, and events (“Events”) at participating hotels and resorts.
  2. Rewarding Events is valid at all participating properties in participating brands: The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott®, EDITION®, Autograph Collection®, Renaissance® Hotels, AC Hotels by Marriott, Marriott® Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard by Marriott®, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott®, SpringHill Suites by Marriott®, and Marriott Vacation Club®.
  3. Rewarding Events is not valid at the following brands:  Residence Inn by Marriott® and TownePlace Suites by Marriott®.
  4. A signed group or catering contract with the hotel sales department is required and must include the Member’s Marriott Rewards account number.
  5. The Member eligible to earn Points or Miles must either be the main Contact recorded on page one (1) of the contract, or the Member is the Authorized Signer of the contract.
  6. Excluding special promotions or incentives, Member will earn three (3) Points or one (1) Mile for every one ($1.00) U.S. dollar spent on qualifying actualized Event charges, up to a maximum 50,000 Points or 15,000 Miles (or equivalent depending on the airline partner) per Event.
  7. Qualifying Event charges – food, beverages, meeting room rental, audio visual equipment, and décor ordered by the hotel and paid for on a Master Account. Guest room rate charges also qualify only when contract has a minimum of ten (10) guest rooms actualize for at least one (1) night of the Event (with or without catering). Qualified guest room charges earn Points or Miles for the Member whether they are paid for on a Master Account or paid for by the individual guest in the room.
  8. Excluded Event charges – all taxes, gratuities and service charges
  9. Members who hold qualifying Events at participating hotels also receive ten (10) Elite Night credits toward their Elite status which are awarded to their Marriott Rewards account along with either Points or Miles earned for the Event.
  10. Points will be awarded or Miles will be submitted to the airline partner within ten (10) business days after the conclusion of the Event provided that the Event is not cancelled, and all other terms and conditions of the group or catering contract executed in connection with the Event have been met.
  11. Points and Miles cannot both be earned for the same Event by a Member.
  12. The Member does not have to be a registered guest or attend the Event in order receive Points or Miles with Rewarding Events.
  13. Only individuals can be enrolled in Marriott Rewards to meet the eligibility requirements. No corporations or organizations can hold a Marriott Rewards account and are thus not eligible to earn Points or Miles with Rewarding Events.
  14. Members are responsible for complying with their own company or organization policies toward hotel loyalty programs that may apply. Members are solely responsible for notifying their employer, principal and/or client of any Points or Miles awarded with Rewarding Events. 
  15. Points or Miles awarded for Events held at participating international locations are based on local currency converted to U.S. dollars. Local currency is converted into U.S. dollars on the day the Event Points or Miles are awarded using a published rate of exchange in effect at time of conversion. This rate will be determined at Marriott Rewards sole discretion, based on standard currency conversion methods, but may vary from currency conversion rates used by credit card companies.
  16. Airline miles vary by airline.  Qantas members earn 2 miles for every one ($1.00) U.S. dollar spent, maximum of 30,000 miles; Southwest members earn one (1) credit for every $2,000 spent, maximum of seven (7) credits.
  17. The number of Marriott Reward Points or airline miles to be awarded shall be determined pursuant to the Marriott Rewards Terms and Conditions, as in effect at the time of award.  The Marriott Rewards Terms and Conditions are available on-line at marriott.com (www.marriott.com/rewards), and may be modified at the sole discretion of Marriott Rewards at any time and without notice.
