Originally from El Salvador, Vilma’s journey has been one of perseverance, dedication, and an abundance of heart. Her father passed away when she was 15, and she worked at a local candy factory in her hometown to help support her family. She joined the company’s softball team and became so skilled in the sport that she played professionally, affording her the opportunity to come to the United States.

Vilma’s hospitality career began in housekeeping at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles, where she worked hard and became a supervisor in the laundry department. She married her childhood sweetheart and they moved to Texas, where she has provided exceptional service at The Westin Oaks Houston at the Galleria. She has held various roles, including in-room dining, before assuming her current position as Club Lounge Concierge.

Vilma’s passion for hospitality shines through in her anticipation of guest needs and drive to create memorable experiences, which in turn ensures that they feel valued and cared for during their stay. Guests have referred to Vilma as a “ray of sunshine” who “shapes the energy of a room in the best way possible.” She delights guests with a welcoming smile and promises “yummy yummy” breakfast in the Club Lounge, earning her the nickname “Miss Yummy Yummy.”

One of Vilma's most notable achievements is her role in transforming the Club Lounge into a haven of comfort and luxury. She meticulously curates every detail, from the selection of gourmet snacks to the arrangement of plush seating, creating an atmosphere that invites relaxation and enjoyment and makes guests feel at home. She provides thoughtful input on food and beverages offered based on what the guests like and want – including when she considered all the details that went into an improved tea service.

Vilma's dedication to excellence extends beyond her professional responsibilities. She is an active participant in community events and charitable initiatives, always seeking ways to give back and make a positive impact.
