History
Arciniega House
The Arciniega House, named after José Miguel de Arciniega. Arriving in San Antonio in 1803, José Miguel, along with his father Gregorio (a soldier for the Second Flying Company of Alamo de Parras), built a house that became a political landmark. Serving Texas under four governments for 36 years, he held roles such as State Legislator and Land Commissioner. Known for his multilingual skills, he fostered peace among Mexicans, Native Americans, and settlers. In 2013, his descendants and dignitaries gathered to celebrate his legacy and dedicate the house in his honor.
