The Amarillo Museum of Art is just one such place, featuring an extensive collection of rotating exhibits as well as regular free events. Nearby, the American Quarter Horse Museum and Hall of Fame tells the story of the beloved breed through displays, a theater and huge bronze statues.
While you’re out sightseeing, you’ll probably pass one of Amarillo’s most famous attractions, Route 66’s original Cadillac Ranch, a piece of creative automobile Americana that has been called “America’s Stonehenge.”
There are plenty of traditional attractions near our Amarillo hotels as well. The Big Texan Steak Ranch and Opry features weekly country and western bands, plus a world-famous 72-ounce steak dinner that’s free if you can finish it! After dinner, the Amarillo nightlife offers something for everyone, from jazz clubs like Bodegas to authentic honky-tonks like the Midnight Rodeo.
