History
Discover the History of Breadsall Priory
The current structure we observe today is primarily a building from the 19th century. However, at its core lies an Elizabethan mansion that remains almost entirely intact, situated atop the ruins of a 13th century Priory. Breadsall Priory has a close association with the surrounding region, having been inhabited by several families over the centuries whose legacies can be found in the churches and churchyards of nearby villages. Currently serving as a prominent hotel, golf, and leisure club, Breadsall Priory continues to provide shelter and hospitality to travelers, just as it did over seven centuries ago as an old Priory on the very same grounds.
