Our Kaanapali resort ohana has been introducing initiatives that support the local community and are a great way for visitors to give back and support local, while also experiencing some of the Lahaina businesses that we all know and love. From on-site experiences like the “Meet the Artist” initiative, held weekly with interactive painting demonstrations and art for sale from Lahaina artists, to “Kokua for Maui” events, where Maui residents and visitors can shop and show their support for local artisans. We are committed to sharing new ways for our guests to stay involved, give back, and support local.

Maui Strong: Sheraton Maui
Our communities are still healing but the people and spirit of the island are Maui Strong. The best way to support the recovery of west Maui is to visit, while showing compassion and respect throughout your journey here. While areas of Lahaina are closed, Kaanapali and the reminder of West Maui remains fully open, and the resort experience is still something that guests can look forward to as being consistent with their fondest travel memories on Maui.
Support Local
Show Aloha
There’s so much to experience in west Maui and the island of Maui. We welcome visitors who are traveling with aloha and compassion to visit us and rediscover all that we have to offer. Maui is calling – now more than ever, we need the support of our visiting ohana.
Malama at your LEIsure
In collaboration with a local lei artist, Sheraton Maui is offering commemorative leis to resort guests who donate a minimum of $100 upon check-in at the front desk to the Maui Imua Fund. Crafted by hand, the leis are made from Burmese wood beads and flower petals molded from polymer clay, featuring pink flowers symbolic for the Maui flower: Lokelani rose. One hundred percent of each donation goes towards the Maui Imua Fund.
Maui Imua
Many have reached out asking how to help support our ‘ohana and greater community. The “Aloha for Sheraton Maui Relief Fund” was founded by our Kyo-ya Ohana ownership team and is dedicated to supporting our Sheraton Maui ‘ohana. We invite you to join in offering your support.

Cliff Dive – Lighting of Torches
As we continue our tradition of lighting the torches at sunset, we reflect on the strength and courage we’ve seen from our ohana, and the acts of aloha we’ve witnessed from our community and guests. We also look towards the future – a time for creating new memories with our beloved Maui community and you: our cherished visiting ohana.
