Going Green With EV Parking
We offer electric charging stations in our resort’s parking structure for guests that choose to utilize electric vehicles during their stay on Maui.

Kaanapali Trolley
Reduce your emissions by riding the Kaanapali Trolley between Sheraton Maui, other Kaanapali resorts, the golf course, and Whalers Village. The trolley runs daily from 10 am to 9:30 pm, with pickups approximately every 30 minutes.
Reef-Safe Maui
Hawaii is one of the most isolated archipelagos on earth and our coral reefs are home to unique marine life found nowhere else on the planet. To help protect our reefs, choose only mineral sunscreens made with ‘non-nanotized’ zinc oxide or titanium dioxide — natural mineral ingredients. Our resort partners with Raw Elements to provide reef-safe sunscreen dispensers throughout the resort for our guests. Effective October 1, 2022, only mineral sunscreens are allowed in Maui County. Mahalo for supporting our efforts to protect Maui's reefs.
Solar Panels
Our Maui resort’s PV system is approximately 250 kW, with over 1100 solar panels and offsets about 10% of our electrical usage.
Designed with Sustainability in Mind
Our Kaanapali resort’s 508 guestrooms and suites incorporate practices that help the resort be energy efficient and thoughtful of its impact on the environment. SMART thermostats are connected to door locks to maximize efficiency. Low flow plumbing faucets and toilets temper water usage and energy efficient LED lightbulbs save on energy output. Guest bathrooms are equipped with large format refillable soap, shampoo and conditioner, replacing wasteful small plastic bottles.

Marine Life
Pu‘u Keka‘a (Black Rock), fronting Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, is one of the top snorkeling destinations on Maui and is home to an array of tropical marine life, vibrant coral reefs and the beautiful honu (green sea turtle). Honu are native to Hawaii and are one of Maui’s most beloved sea creatures. Honu are protected under State and Federal laws, and should be respected and enjoyed from a minimum distance of 10 feet. We ask that all guests and visitors please comply with the rules if you spot a turtle swimming or resting on the shores of one of Maui’s beaches.
Malama Hawaii
Our resort partners with a number of Maui organizations to support the sustainable development of our community and to deliver aid in times of need. Community partners include Treecovery Hawaii, Maui Food Bank, Maui Humane Society, Lahaina Restoration Foundation, and more. Create a more enriching getaway and malama (give back) during your visit. From beach cleanups and reforestation projects to taking a pup out of the shelter for a day of fun, you’ll feel a deeper connection to Maui through efforts that make a difference to our island home.
