Located in the up-and-coming neighborhood of Bethnal Green, Town Hall Hotel & Apartments is a real mix of architectural styles: the handsome Edwardian building is partly topped by a vertical extension of laser-cut aluminum, and the interiors see stately staircases, marble flooring, high ceilings, and a marble-clad swimming pool. Twinkling chandeliers, wood paneled walls, and quirky design pieces also provide eye-catching conversation starters. While the large apartment-style guestrooms encourage a night of reclusive indulgence, the neighborhood beckons with galleries, hip weekend markets, traditional English pubs, swanky new bars, and great restaurants—one of which, the Corner Room resides in the hotel. Guests should also keep an eye out for the various multidisciplinary artworks around the hotel, such as the old-fashioned “Molly Malone” telephone near the reception that plays a selection of site-specific poems read aloud by London “cabbies".
