At JW Marriott Masai Mara, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and supporting the community in which we are located. Situated on the outskirts of the Masai Mara National Reserve, our safari lodge was developed in partnership with the local community and works to maintain the natural movement of the surrounding wildlife. Enjoy an immersive experience in nature and JW’s signature hospitality while knowing your stay is responsibly managed.

Our Focus on Sustainability

From reducing waste, water, and energy use to responsibly sourcing our food & beverage ingredients, our sustainable practices incorporate:

Powering the lodge each day from our massive solar power system

Installing a water filtration system for bottled water

Harvesting rainwater

Sourcing from local suppliers and our own JW Garden

Utilizing black soldier flies to repurpose food waste into manure and animal feed

Our Focus on Community Engagement

From volunteering to protecting the natural environment, our community engagement efforts include:

Protecting the nearby hippopotamus watering hole

Working in partnership with the Lazizi Welfare Foundation to support childhood education 

Planting trees to support the local fauna and flora 

Offering internship opportunities
