Overlooking Tongan Bay and set along the Huandong West coastline, the Renaissance Xiamen Hotel honors the local fishing heritage through striking design. Sail-inspired installations, colors and patterns that borrow from the ocean and a playful interaction of light and shadow are reflections of the true source of beauty: the sea itself. The water can be admired from nearly every space in the hotel. Accommodations offer views from private balconies and bathtubs; floor-to-ceiling windows capture diners’ attention at R Bar while Waterfront restaurant places guests right on the shore; and the fitness center inspires guest to push themselves harder with the promise of a refreshing dip in full view. The sea is not the only place for respite: there are six swimming pools including five outdoors with distinct themes. Shopping and a cinema are also nearby. The colorful seafront setting lends itself to weddings and events and the hotel offers nine beautifully designed venues including two pillar-free ballrooms.
