Located in the tropical paradise of Phuket’s Western coast on a secluded cove, Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort is set amidst 40 acres of lush foliage, sprawling golden sands, and the emerald Andaman Sea. A mining centre during the 16th century, Phuket employed many Hakka Chinese miners, and China’s rich cultural imprint can still be seen on the island today as well as the colourful influences of Portuguese explorers.
Today, our transformative resort can be your base for exploring ancient caverns or temples. The resort features six meeting rooms, a world-class spa, and numerous recreational options on land and sea. Ten international restaurants and bars allow for gastronomic journeys around the globe. The resort’s 416 rooms and 54 luxury suites are enriched with local Thai design, complementing our tropical setting. These, along with superb five-star amenities, provide creative holidays that are delivered with comfort.
The resort is just minutes away from some of the celebrated sites of Phuket, including the lively shopping and restaurant district of Patong, the 29 ornate temples that dot the island, hiking trails through ancient limestone caverns, and scuba diving through the Andaman Sea’s translucent indigo waters.

Since its opening in 1987, Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort has continually strived to minimize its impact on the environment with emphasis on waste reduction, efficient energy management, water conservation, and active participation in community green programs. The resort has been an active member and supporter of the Thai Green Leaf Program since 1997 with similar views on efficient environmental management. The resort has regularly implemented best practices acquired through seminars sponsored by the Thai Green Leaf Program.
In March 2016, Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort completed a 7.5-million Baht upgrade of its on-site waste-water treatment plant. Previously, the facility produced up to 120 cubic meters of water per day. With the upgrade, the facility now produces 500 cubic meters of water that is compliant with local water safety standards. Processed water is used for the surrounding gardens and plants all around the resort, thereby reducing the consumption of water supplied by the city for this purpose.
A proven way to achieve successful conservation efforts is to involve associates and guests as much as possible. The resort is one of the first properties on Phuket to include guests during Sea Turtle release activities on Songkran (traditional Thai New Year), in coordination with conservation authorities, to increase awareness of the need to protect the dwindling sea turtle population. In 2017, in line with its commitment to reduce plastic waste, the resort discontinued the use of plastic bottles in guest rooms and suites, replacing these with glass bottles.
In August 2019, the resort achieved a ‘Gold Award Certification 2019-2021’ for its conservation efforts from Travelife, an independent and internationally recognized accommodation sustainability program based in London that is accredited by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort believes that Environment and Energy Conservation is not a temporary undertaking that has a beginning or an end. It is a mindset that is embedded in all associates and conscientiously reflected in their actions day in and day out.
