Downtown San Diego

Where to Eat in San Diego

Take advantage of San Diego's mild climate and dine al fresco, day and night, throughout Downtown's dynamic neighborhoods. As an alternate option, indoor dining is also available at most restaurants, bars and cafes.

Gaslamp Quarter
Expanded patios and beautifully decorated parklets line the streets of the Gaslamp Quarter with over 50 restaurants and bars open for you to experience. Curbside Gaslamp enhances the outdoor shopping and dining ambiance with select streets closed to vehicular traffic Wednesday-Sunday to create a pedestrian promenade.
Little Italy
Prepare your taste buds for foodie-paradise! Some of the city's most critically acclaimed restaurants can be found in nearby Little Italy. Many have created chic street-side patios for al fresco dining while others, including Born & Raised and Kettner Exchange, offer romantic rooftop terraces to dine under the stars.
Waterfront Dining
Stroll to Seaport Village or the newly opened Portside Pier along the Downtown Embarcadero for San Diego bay views and outdoor dining options that range from quick service cafes to fine dining.
Beer Tasting in Downtown
Taste your way through San Diego's craft breweries, walking distance from our hotel. Wake up with weekend breakfast near the ballbark at Half Door Brewing Co, head to Little Italy for lunch with Bolt Brewery and Ballast Point both offering outdoor dining. Enjoy happy hour at Little Miss Brewing's front patio, and end your day at Quartyard, an outdoor container park with a craft beer garden.
Coronado Ferry Landing
Board the Flagship ferry at Downtown San Diego's Broadway Pier to ride the calm harbor waters to Coronado. Select one of the formal or casual restaurants at Ferry Landing to dine al fresco while admiring with the view of Downtown San Diego's sparkling skyline.
Liberty Station
This former Naval Training Center has been transformed into a lively destination for outdoor dining. Watch planes overhead from nearby San Diego International Airport while you savor dishes from one of the full service restaurants, including Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens, or each family member can pick a favorite to share from the Liberty Public Market.
