When strolling along the famous Promenade des Anglais in Nice, a monumental statue (19m high) can be seen hemmed between two blocks of granite, peeking through the palm trees: it is the “VENUS ITALICA.” The statue was designed by the artist Sacha Sosno to embellish the side elevations of our hotel, considered one of the iconic hotels with a historical façade in Nice. Her twin can be found adorning the north elevation. Transforming the building into an open-air work of art, Sosno illustrates his original concept of “Obliteration” and captures onlookers’ attention, compelling them to view the work differently by stimulating their imagination.
