At The Laguna Bali, we believe true luxury is found in harmony between nature, humanity, and tradition. Guided by the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, we strive to balance our connection with the divine (Parhyangan), our relationships with one another (Pawongan), and our respect for nature (Palemahan). This harmony extends beyond our local roots and embraces a global vision, aligning with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Welcome to a Story of Balance, Beauty, and Purpose
We strive to reduce inequality, combat climate change, and protect Bali’s natural beauty, contributing to global peace, prosperity, and sustainability. These principles guide our commitment to creating exceptional, eco-conscious experiences that honor local traditions and global goals.
Sustainability Highlights at The Laguna Bali
Zero Waste, Greater Impact
Through a partnership with the Zero Waste Center by the R.O.L.E Foundation, we drive sustainability by training businesses and residents in waste management and educating over 4,000 children through Kids Environmental Classrooms in 2024. Initiatives like the Zero Waste Soap & Paper Program and beach cleanups, which collected over 1,700 kg of waste in July 2024, demonstrate our commitment to a cleaner future.
Innovative Water Solutions
In collaboration with The St. Regis Bali Resort and Biosystems Indonesia, we’ve launched a state-of-the-art water bottling plant using Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) technology. This facility produces high-quality drinking water, meeting WHO standards, with a pH of 7.19, reducing reliance on plastic bottles.
Less Plastic, More Life
Lulu the Turtle, our beachfront recycling bin, raises awareness about marine pollution and supports sea turtle conservation. Guests are encouraged to recycle plastic bottles, directly contributing to habitat preservation.
Eco-Conscious Guest Experiences
We promote greener stays by encouraging guests to reuse linens and adopt sustainable laundry practices. Bathroom amenities feature biodegradable products by Bali-based Republic of Soap®, reducing plastic waste while supporting local artisans.
Water Efficiency
Low-flow fixtures in our rooms, combined with strategically placed submeters and irrigation pumps, significantly reduce water consumption without compromising guest comfort.
Farm-to-Table Philosophy
Our ethical sourcing includes free-range eggs, sustainably sourced pork, and responsibly caught seafood through the Sustainable Seafood Program. Every dish reflects a commitment to animal welfare and marine biodiversity.
Community Support Through Food Donations
In 2024, we donated 944.68 kg of food, providing 3,968 meals to Scholars of Sustenance Bali, reducing food waste and supporting local communities.
Celebrating Earth
We honor global initiatives like Earth Hour and Ocean Day with sustainable culinary creations and eco-conscious mixology, showcasing innovative and responsible approaches.
Zero Waste Dining
Using the Marriott Environmental Sustainability Hub (MESH), we track food waste and repurpose surplus ingredients for themed events, promoting mindful consumption.
Plant-Based Dining
We offer vibrant plant-based options at Banyubiru’s breakfast buffet and daily vegan meals for associates, fostering a healthier, more sustainable dining culture.
